My Brother Knights;
I realize it has been some time since I wrote anything on the GK blog of our website, but that does not mean our council has been inactive.
I would like to thank Brs Carmen Matteo, George Zifle and Larry Strozewski for all their help and dedication to cooking and prep work for this past Lenten Fish Fries held in school cafeteria. The food was always great and I am sure a good time was had by all those who attended.
In March, we lost one of our own Brother Knights. Michael Venditti passed away on March 28, 2017. His funeral was held on April 3rd, 2017 at St. Albert The Great Church in North Royalton. As most of you are probably aware, my friendship with Br. Mike goes back some 46 years, long before we ever became members of the Knights of Columbus. Please watch the bulletin, as I will be having several masses being said for his soul in the future. Hopefully, you will be able to attend.
Br Tim Esther and I held a membership blitz in April of 2017 and though we did not recruit anyone that particular weekend, we planted many seeds. I fielded many questions during the carnival weekend about men wanting to join the Knights, the same men who stopped by our information table to ask questions after masses. In fact, we did have two men signed form 100’s over carnival weekend. More info on our new members will be forthcoming. I am hope they will be making their first degrees next month, so they can attend the August business meeting.
My plan is to write at least one short blog per month for our website to try and keep everyone updated about our Council activities.
Your Brother in Christ,
Jim Gresko, Grand Knight
