My Brother Knights;
Round two of The Youth Free Throw contest was held in our gym on February 20, 2017 and again it turned out to be quite a success. We had 18 first round winners from our parish and Assumption Parish in Broadview Hts. turn out for the competition. Congratulations to George Ochocki, age 11 and Richard Forgach, age 14 of St. Anthony’s for winning their age group and moving on to the next round in on March 5th in Fairlawn Ohio. Best of luck to both young men.
December 2016 Family & Knight of month honors went to Br Michael Indovina. Br Michael is currently serving in active military and we keep him and all servicemen & women in our prayers every meeting. I know his family supports him at every turn and so should his KofC Council.
January 2017 Family & Knight of the month honors went to John Antel. I know firsthand the amount of time it takes to be GK of this council and John served in that capacity for over two years, plus continued on as Treasurer. The time these tasks take away from family and personal agenda does not go unnoticed by me.
January 2017, Knight of the Month honors go to Br Mike Bell, for once again handling the Youth Free Throw contest flawlessly. I know when that program rolls around, I can breathe easy knowing it is all handled.
January 2017, Family of the Month honors go to Br Mel Travers. Not only did Br Mel come the Free Throw contest, but he brought his wife and son along as well. KofC here at St. Anthony’s is truly a family organization.
Br Dan Speeth & Br Mike Bell also brought their sons along to help out with the event.
Upcoming events: Fish Fry help need this Lenten season. Call the Rectory for more info. Carnival set up begins April 21st & 22nd.
Your Brother in Christ,
Jim Gresko, Grand Knight
